ABSTRACT
The cooling system is fundamental in a casting process. Without a cooling system, the process of solidification will become uncontrolled, which results in defects and long cycle time. However, traditional maintenance techniques are not able to maintain the cooling system in top condition efficiently. Instead of ensuring the cooling system is in excellent condition by increasing the frequency of maintenance, preventive maintenance techniques make the downtime sharply increase and disrupt the process. This research will use predictive maintenance techniques combined with SCADA technology, big data, and machine learning to produce a more accurate level of breakdown prediction. Based on the results of tests on a laboratory scale using prototypes, this system can predict machine downtime with accuracy up to 91%.
