Welcome to the&nbsp;Solar-Powered Mobile Pasteurization Unit Summer Course, an ambitious program where sustainable engineering, food safety innovation, and real-world entrepreneurship merge into one fully functional, road-ready mobile lab. From&nbsp;May 1 to June 27, 2025, Universitas Atma Jaya Yogyakarta invites passionate students from around the globe to participate in an immersive&nbsp;Summer Sustainability Program&nbsp;focused on green technology, smart mobility, and food security. Hosted at the state-of-the-art&nbsp;Automation Laboratory of the Industrial Engineering Department, this intensive eight-week program is centered around a groundbreaking hands-on project: the design, fabrication, and launch of a&nbsp;fully operational solar-powered mobile pasteurization unit\u2014a sustainable food truck engineered to deliver safe, fresh, and locally processed milk directly to communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the course of the program, you will embark on a comprehensive journey through the entire product development lifecycle. The experience begins with a series of expert-led workshops introducing the&nbsp;United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), renewable energy systems, and the role of the&nbsp;Internet of Things (IoT)&nbsp;in modern sustainable manufacturing. This theoretical foundation quickly transitions into applied learning as you collaborate in diverse, international teams. Using industry-standard&nbsp;CAD software, you will draft detailed designs for the vehicle\u2019s chassis, integrate photovoltaic energy systems, and engineer the thermal control and refrigeration units necessary for safe pasteurization and cold-chain management. In the laboratory, you will gain hands-on skills in welding, electrical assembly, solar panel installation, and sensor programming\u2014transforming digital designs into a tangible, road-ready prototype.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>Beyond the workshop, the program is designed to provide holistic exposure to sustainability in action. You will visit local green-tech companies and manufacturing sites to observe sustainable practices firsthand, participate in the&nbsp;IAESTE International Festival&nbsp;to celebrate global cultural exchange, and enjoy organized cultural trips to experience the rich heritage of Yogyakarta. The program culminates in a&nbsp;final presentation and demonstration week, where your team will showcase the completed vehicle, conduct live pasteurization tests, and even engage in a pilot community outreach initiative.
